Contract DevOps Engineer with extensive experience and background in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is required to join our client for an initial 3-month contract. The role will be fully remote working and is deemed outside IR35.
We're working with an established fast-growing, global organisation who are scaling quickly and need an experienced GCP DevOps Engineer to step in and analyse, audit, and optimise their Google Cloud Platform infrastructure. They're running Kubernetes (GKE) workloads and want to ensure their platform is efficient, secure and scalable.
This is a hands-on role for a cloud engineer who thrives in performance of high traffic platforms identifying gaps, making recommendations, and getting stuck into the tech.
Key Experience
- Proven experience as a Contract DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer in a GCP environment
- Extensive knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products, services, and methodology
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of the current GCP infrastructure
- Experience working across high traffic and availability platforms
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and risks in the current cloud setup
- Contribute technical roadmap for infrastructure improvement and cloud best practices
- Document the infrastructure and changes for internal knowledge sharing
- Provide guidance on cost optimisation, performance tuning, and security hardening
Essential Skills
- GCP - deep knowledge of core services: Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Logging/Monitoring (Cloud Operations)
- Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- Cloudflare
- Terraform
- CI/CD pipelines
- Networking concepts, technologies, and protocols
- Stakeholder management
- Excellent communication skills
