A prominent educational institution in Reading is seeking an Assistant Site Controller to join their facilities management team. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the site, providing a safe and efficient environment for both students and staff.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in the overall management and maintenance of the school premises.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and identify areas requiring maintenance or repair.
  • Coordinate with contractors and oversee repair, maintenance, and construction projects to ensure they meet safety standards and are completed on time.
  • Help manage the site’s security systems, including setting alarms and managing access controls.
  • Support the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures across the site.
  • Assist in managing the cleaning and grounds maintenance teams to ensure the site is well-presented and functional.
  • Help coordinate logistics for school events and activities, ensuring all necessary preparations are made.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in site management or a similar role within the UK, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of building maintenance, facilities management, and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Good communication skills, capable of liaising with various stakeholders including staff, students, and external contractors.
  • Relevant qualifications in facilities management or a related field are advantageous.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willing to undergo checks).
