Project Engineer / Manager

£35,000 - £50,000 + Car

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Engineer / Manager to join a UK market leading supplier in environmental building solutions working in a dynamic business within the Special Projects department who specialise in the realisation of bespoke acoustic louvres, acoustic panels & weather louvres screens and enclosures across the construction industry.

My client realise that this is a very niche sector and as such are willing to consider applicants from other industry backgrounds with transferable skills, such as facades, steel work and aluminium work. The level of role will be offered depending on experience and offers a great career path as we have a proven track record of progression to senior positions.

This is a hybrid role with Monday, Wednesday and Fridays in the office and working from home Tuesday and Thursday. Site visits will also be required.

The Duties

You will be allocated projects and/or assist in management of projects from point handover from Sales and Estimating to the Contracts department, through to completion.

  • Understand the project requirements from the "Handover" meeting and documentation.
  • Engage in all aspects of client liaison.
  • Control the financial management of the project via internal procedures.
  • Manage the design process alongside our client and CAD Engineers.
  • Undertake dimensional site surveys.
  • Manage project programmes including CAD allocations and production scheduling.
  • Manage project Quality Assurance.
  • Organise and book deliveries alongside our deliveries team.
  • Undertake project planning methodology including RAMS and on-site H&S administration.
  • Manage installation.
  • Handover the project to the client and review and input into Case Studies.

The Requirements

  • An appropriate degree, HNC/HND or equivalent industry experience preferable.
  • Proficiency or an understanding of Autodesk Inventor (willing to consider a candidate with experience of similar 3D CAD software e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, Solid Edge, Siemens NX, Fusion 360).
  • AutoCAD, or a similar 2D CAD package, like MicroStation.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project.
  • ISOH or NEBOSH preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in interpretation of architectural/engineering type drawings
  • Have excellent attention to detail, be a good communicator, clearly convey ideas / designs verbally or through sketch.
  • Be able to liaise effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
  • Be punctual and able to work to strict project deadlines.
  • Be diligent and reliable and demonstrate a flexible attitude to work.
  • Be a pro-active, team player/self-motivated & enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
