We are seeking an experienced Head of Property Services and DLO to work with a local council in Berkshire. This role is crucial for overseeing various key functions within the Housing Management Team and requires a professional with substantial experience in housing, specifically in repairs and maintenance.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee planned maintenance, compliance, new build surveyors, reactive repairs service, and M&E.
  • Manage a team of 5-6 staff, leading the delivery of services and day-to-day operations within these areas.
  • Work closely with the AD, acting as the technical expert within the Housing Management Team.
  • Undertake strategic initiatives such as reviewing the Compliance Team’s functions, preparing for Regulation with accountability for specific workstreams, and leading the improvement journey for the Repairs service.
  • Lead cultural initiatives to enhance teamwork and customer focus.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within housing, focusing on repairs and maintenance.
  • Strong managerial skills with experience in overseeing multiple functions and leading a team.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex projects and drive operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under the Council’s scheme of delegation and make critical operational decisions.
