The Role:
In this role as a Residential Childcare Assessor (Levels 4 and 5), you will be responsible for visiting and assessing learners in the Reading and South West London areas, ensuring they are progressing effectively in their studies. You will support a cohort of 30-50 learners, providing tailored assessments and guidance to help them achieve their qualifications. The position involves visiting at least three learners per day, with Fridays dedicated to administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on planning and managing your workload efficiently.
With flexible working hours (core hours of 10 AM to 4 PM), you'll have the option to manage your schedule around your availability, offering great work-life balance. There is no teaching or functional skills to manage (as dedicated departments handle these), meaning you will play a key role in supporting learner development. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of the learners, with a direct impact on their career progression.
About you:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced individual who is passionate about supporting learners in their journey to success. You will hold a Level 3 or higher qualification in Residential Childcare, as well as a teaching and assessing qualification, ensuring you have the necessary expertise to assess and guide learners effectively. A strong understanding of the Residential Childcare sector, combined with experience in assessing and supporting learners, is essential.
You should be an excellent communicator, capable of building strong relationships with learners, providing constructive feedback, and motivating them to reach their full potential. Experience with managing learner progress, conducting assessments, and offering tailored support is key to this role.
You will be adaptable, organised, and able to manage a flexible workload, with the ability to travel to various locations within the Reading and South West London areas. Above all, you should be committed to providing high-quality support and making a meaningful impact on the careers of your learners.

You'll receive a competitive salary between 26.5k - 32k, depending on experience, along with 23 days of holiday, a pension scheme, and a comprehensive healthcare package. In addition, the role offers flexibility with core working hours of 10 AM to 4 PM, and the opportunity to manage your schedule to suit your needs. You'll have the option to work nighttime hours if desired, but this is entirely optional.

You'll also be reimbursed for travel, with 35p per mile paid after the first 10 miles of travel each day, making your commute more rewarding.
