Credit Controller - 12 month FTC - Reading - £26.000 - £28.000

I am currently recruiting for a Credit Controller for an exciting business based on the outskirts of Reading. This is an exciting role working for a company who truly values their staff.

Key duties:

  • Monitor and review customer accounts to identify overdue balances.
  • Ensure all payments are collected within agreed credit terms.
  • Evaluate new and existing customers' creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits.
  • Perform credit checks and analysis on prospective and current customers.
  • Follow up on overdue invoices through calls, emails, and letters.
  • Resolve payment discrepancies and disputes in a timely manner.
  • Negotiate payment plans with customers when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit control activities.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on debtors, collections, and credit status to management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to credit control.
  • Identify potential risks in credit management and propose solutions to mitigate them.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of credit management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
