Stores Operative

Objective:

  • To assist in the storage, handling and distribution of the resources of the Stores and Distribution area
  • To ensure accurate Stock Control
  • To work as a team with other Stores and Distribution staff and provide Holiday / Sickness cover as necessary
  • To ensure safe custody of stock, to ensure compliance with statutory and other regulations, e.g. Fire, Environmental, Health & Safety or any other special conditions imposed by a customer

Job Functions:

Receiving:

  • To receive goods into the company, assisting with loading and unloading
  • To book in and out of inspection location, goods that require detailed ‘goods in' inspection.
  • To check and verify goods received in and to notify Purchasing of discrepancies.
  • To maintain the full traceability system, labelling of goods, issuing of internal batch numbers and filing of suppliers Certificates of Conformity, ensuring all materials are correctly identified
  • To distribute goods received notes (GRN) to finance department.
  • To distribute non-stocked goods received to the correct department.

Kitting:

  • To provide a timely kitting service within stores of materials required for production
  • To kit up any materials required by Purchasing for sub-contract operations.
  • To ensure shortages are cleared and given to production.

General:

  • To maintain stock locations
  • To maintain the shelf life system for specific materials, e.g. loctites, resins, rubber products etc.
  • To issue Production Supervisors with requisitioned parts
  • To assist in perpetual inventory stock checks (PI) in order to maintain integrity of stock record data
  • To be available for stock checks and be flexible with regards to working overtime
  • To undertake any other duties or special projects as may be required by the Line Managers and Supervisors
  • Maintain required levels of consumables in production
  • Assists in training of Associate Sores Operative

Job Requirements:

  • Preferably 1-3 Years experience of MRP pick lists, stores locations, lot traceability etc
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Self-motivated but can work as part of a team.
  • PC literate to intermediate level, including MS office, email, MRP systems etc
  • Upholds and acts in accordance with Moog values.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Current Fork Lift Certification
