Cegeka UK are currently looking for a Senior Database Administrator on behalf of our UK Central Government client. This would be an initial 12 month contract, with full-time on-site expectations at our clients West Berkshire site, and would sit inside of IR35. If you have extensive experience supporting Oracle and SQL database environments, wed love to hear from you.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary support for Oracle and MS SQL database environments including daily operations, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, and production support
  • Development, documentation, implementation and maintenance of operational policies / best practice for the database estate
  • Strategic planning, capacity planning, and implementing best practices for database management
  • Continual process improvement with a focus on automation of repeatable tasks.


Skills and Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle (19c) and MS SQL (2016, 2019 & 2022) database environments
  • Demonstratable experience working within sensitive government projects
  • Previous background in providing primary full cycle support within the context of database environments
  • Ability to commute to site on a daily basis (non-negotiable)
  • DV Clearance (non-negotiable)
