Building Safety Compliance Manager

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey in the world of lettings? Our client specialises in providing high-quality, new-build family homes for rent across the UK.

About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and driven Building Safety Compliance Manager to join the team in Reading. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our properties meet legal standards and adhere to in-house compliance policies and procedures. You will be a key advisor on compliance matters, monitoring changes in real estate laws, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing expert guidance to the business.

This role is full time, based at lovely offices just opposite Reading train station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all shareholder compliance requirements.
  • Oversee compliance with health and safety regulations, including gas safety, fire risk assessments, and block management obligations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure properties meet quality and safety standards.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance violations, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Monitor changes in real estate laws and regulations, adapting practices to maintain compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training on compliance-related matters to foster a culture of compliance within the organisation.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies.
  • Provide proactive advice and challenge to the business, ensuring strong risk mitigation measures.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven experience as a Compliance Manager, ideally within the build-to-rent (BTR) or multi-family residential (MFR) sectors.
  • Strong understanding of real estate laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks autonomously.
  • A collaborative team player who can inspire and motivate others while working independently.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in presenting and interpreting information professionally.
