You will be supporting a few year groups between Year 1 - Year 6, supporting over the KS1/KS2 national curriculum. A candidate should desirably have a previous understanding or working experience - it could be being a parent or hold previous Classroom Assistant experience.

Your duties as a Classroom Assistant:

  • Recording and reporting the KS1/KS2 pupil's progress to the teacher.
  • Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with the Aldermaston, W. Berkshire Primary pupils to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the school.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with higher needs, this could be from challenging behaviour needing a break, ADHD, Autism or Dyslexia requiring more unique approaches to the main classroom.
  • Contribute to providing high quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.
  • Respond to the varying and changing needs of the Aldermaston, W. Berkshire based school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
  • Provide a safe learning environment for the KS1/KS2 children. Holding a high standard of Safeguarding knowledge, willing to undergo regular training as provided.
