Electrical Design Engineer - SC Cleared

Location: Aldermaston | 2-3 Days On-Site

Rate: Market Rate/Open For Discussion | Inside IR35

Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required

Contract: 12 Months

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to provide electrical designs for the Facility Design Authority (FDA) such that utilities, infrastructure, engineering processes, equipment and facilities are compliant with legislation, standards and requirements associated with engineering design throughout the facility lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver electrical designs that meet safety and performance requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislative documentation / standards associated with electrical engineering.
  • Application of knowledge to confirm designs are prepared which comply with relevant legislation, standards and requirements.
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality, and be a great team player.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical designs that address defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard.
  • Ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle, liaising with other discipline areas to ensure overall design intent is maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with Company Assurance Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure application of standards is proportionate and that engineering best practice is adopted.
  • Elevate areas of concern to the relevant Principal Engineer.

Skills/Experience

  • Producing electrical designs as part of a multi-discipline design team.
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated environment (preferably nuclear and / or explosives).
  • Working knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to electrical engineering.
  • Competent in standard office software, and engineering tools and applications.
  • Knowledge of legislation and standards associated with nuclear and / or high hazard facilities.
  • ONC / OND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
  • HNC / HND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
