Electrical Design Engineer

The UK's leading design consultancy is looking for an electrical designer to join their team to complete major projects in the UK's nuclear and defence sector on a long term 12 month contract.

• Pay Rates - Up To £60 hour

This is a great role with a great company for an electrical design engineer to work on some of the most exciting and challenging projects in the sector with some of the best minds in the business.

Day to Day Duties:

• Deliver electrical designs for the facility design authority and meet performance standards
• Deliver electrical designs that address defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard. 
• Ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle, liaising with other discipline areas to ensure overall design intent is maintained. 
• Ensure application of standards is proportionate and that engineering best practice is adopted.  
• Elevate areas of concern to the relevant Principal Engineer. 
• Application of knowledge to confirm designs are prepared which comply with relevant legislation, standards and requirements. 

Qualifications:

• ONC / OND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
• HNC / HND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
• Working knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to electrical engineering. 
• Competent in standard office software, and engineering tools and applications. 
• Knowledge of legislation and standards associated with nuclear and / or high hazard facilities. 
• Experience of working in a highly regulated environment (preferably nuclear and / or explosives).
