Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain all building systems efficiently, ensuring uninterrupted operation in a cutting-edge research and development facility.
- Complete PPMs and reactive tasks, updating the electronic work flow system to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Perform daily checks to identify and address defects, escalating issues via the FM helpdesk as necessary.
- Proactively identify, order, and install materials required for maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and company health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies.
- Conduct and accurately record statutory inspections within designated logbooks to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Review and sign off Specialist Service Provider worksheets, inspecting work quality and escalating recommendations to the Supervisor.
- Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards in plant areas, workshops, stores, and rest areas.
- Participate in an emergency response standby rota to provide timely support during critical events.
- Liaise effectively with client representatives regarding maintenance and repair tasks.
The Electrical Engineer will be expected to troubleshoot and maintain all building systems, including but not limited to:
- Three-Phase and Single-Phase Electrical Systems
- Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Monitoring Systems
- HVAC Systems, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Air Conditioning, and Chillers
- Pumps, Motors, and Variable Speed Drives
- Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and Standby Power Systems
Essential:
- Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification.
- BS 7671 18th Edition Certification.
- C&G 2391 or equivalent testing and inspection qualification.
- Proven experience in planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and clients.
- Ability to remain calm and deliver under pressure, meeting client time constraints.Desirable:
- Experience with Lockout Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Experience with CAFM systems, particularly Corrigo.
- Overtime rates: 1.5x on weekdays, 2x on weekends and bank holidays.
