They are dedicated to driving the deployment of battery energy storage systems (BESS) through an integrated solution, contributing to the widespread adoption of renewable energy.

Location & Flexibility - Remote/Hybrid with occasional visit to site when needed.

About the Job:

As the High Voltage Technical Manager, you will manage high-voltage systems across BESS project sites, ensuring safe operations, switching, and compliance. This key role requires a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) certified up to 33kV, who will work closely with the Services team, manage contractors, and oversee the safe operation of high-voltage systems.

  • You’ll be responsible for leading HV switching operations up to 33kV, including isolation, earthing, and safe switching processes as well as overseeing operational BESS sites to ensure optimal performance of high-voltage systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Electrical Safety Rules, CDM Regulations, and other relevant UK standards as well as issue permits and safety documentation for high-voltage activities.
  • Conducting risk assessments and preparing method statements for HV tasks.
  • Providing leadership to onsite electrical teams and managing contractors.
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, and service teams to align on project objectives.
  • Monitoring HV systems' performance, identifying, and addressing any issues.
  • Implementing maintenance and operational procedures across operational sites.

About You:

  • Senior Authorised Person (SAP) certified up to 33kV.
  • Degree on HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
  • Extensive experience with high-voltage systems, ideally in BESS or utility-scale energy infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of UK electrical safety regulations, including the Grid Code as well as familiarity with SCADA systems and remote monitoring of BESS operations.
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., SMSTS/NEBOSH/IOSH).
