Electrician/ICA Technician, Reading and surrounding areas, £45-50k + bens and company vanOur client, a growing Electrical and Mechanical Engineering contractor in the UK construction industry, primarily working within Water Utilities, is seeking an experienced Electrician/ICA Technician.This role will require travel across various sites in/around in Hampshire, Berkshire, and East Sussex with the Head Office being in Reading.Your RoleAs an Electrician/ICA Technician, you will hold a crucial technical role within the company. You will collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams, and occasionally work independently. A standby and call-out rota is operated to handle reactive work out of hours.Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Replacement: Replacing end-of-life or unsupported equipment and hardware, including Telemetry RTU, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and control systems.
  • Fault Diagnosis: Identifying and resolving technical issues with instrumentation, control, and automation equipment using troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools.
  • Testing and Configuration: Ensuring equipment is functioning correctly and configured to meet operational requirements.
  • Installation and Repair: Installing, modifying, and repairing equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to industry best practices and safety guidelines.
  • Compliance: Complying with industry standards and regulations, such as Health and Safety and environmental standards.
  • Electrical Drawings: Reading and modifying electrical drawings to understand and implement technical specifications.
  • Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service by addressing client questions and concerns professionally.
  • IT Skills: Demonstrating basic IT skills and PC literacy.
  • Call-out Rota: Participating in a call-out rota to cover clients' 24/7 reactive breakdowns.
Ideal Qualifications
  • Full Electrical apprenticeship or HNC/ONC/BTEC
  • 2330, 2391, 18th Edition Wiring Regs., NVQ Level 3, AM2
  • Knowledge of SCADA, Telemetry, HMI, PLC, and Instrumentation
  • CSCS or ECS Card
  • Experience in Instrumentation, Control, and Automation
  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with other teams within the company
