Senior Engineer Navigation & Acoustic Signal Processing
Near Reading with Hybrid working Must be in the office 2 days a week

This role in the Hybrid Navigation team focuses on the development and optimisation of acoustic sensors for navigation. You will play a key role in contributing to the development of world-leading subsea navigation technology, pushing the boundaries of underwater sensing and positioning.

The position requires expertise in acoustics, signal processing, and software development to enhance the performance and accuracy of these critical systems. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the design of underwater velocity sensors, developing and refining signal processing algorithms, and implementing these algorithms into robust, well-structured software.

Your work will involve both simulation-based testing and practical experimentation to validate performance in real-world conditions. You will collaborate closely with experts in transducer design, mechanical and electronic engineering, a broad software team, and application engineers, contributing to the development of cutting-edge marine navigation solutions. The role will involve aligning developments across other product lines.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to work on innovative technologies and key projects which will expand our navigation systems into new applications and markets. There will be a focus on optimising sensors for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to develop our products for marine robotics applications.

Qualifications:
Degree in Navigation / Control Systems, Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
Industry experience in one or more of; subsea acoustics, transducer design, signal processing.
Industry experience in C/C++ development, within a structured development environment.
Embedded Linux

Practical application of sensing using acoustics. A strong understanding of one or more of the following is required.
Acoustic signal design
Signal processing
Sensor Fusion Techniques
