Role Overview - Electroplater

Our leading manufacturing client is looking for an experienced Electroplater to join their team based in Reading. The successful candidate will be responsible for the plating and inspection of components used within a range of industries inclduing aerospace and defense.

Key Responsibilities - Electroplater

  • Plan and implement procedures to ensure best practices and high efficiency in plating operations.
  • Establish and maintain control plans for all plating processes.
  • Identify and address current process issues, integrating improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Provide instruction, training, and guidance to other workers involved in plating activities as needed.
  • Develop and present proposals for cost savings and productivity improvements.
  • Make recommendations for new plant/equipment and participate in factory layout planning.
  • Carry out inspections and monitor plating quality, surface finishes, and adherence to standards.
  • Provide detailed reports on performance metrics, including standard achievement and reject records.
  • Purchase and maintain consumables required for continuous production.
  • Perform a variety of plating operations, while adhering to strict tolerances and inspection standards.
  • Implement and maintain 5S practices to ensure a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve manufacturing processes, methods, and tooling.

Key Experience and Qualifications - Electropllater

  • Apprenticeship in Engineering related discipline or similar
  • Chemical processes qualifications (essential)
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge
  • 5 years minimum experience in a production environment
