Environmental Health Officer - Private Sector Housing TeamLocation: Reading (Flexible Work Available)Pay: £45 per hour Are you passionate about improving housing standards and making a positive impact on communities? Join us as a Qualified Environmental Health Officer and help safeguard the quality of life for our residents. What You'll Do: As part of our Private Sector Housing Team, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring safe and well-maintained housing across Reading. You will: Conduct inspections and investigations, primarily focused on HMOs (houses in multiple occupation).Address housing complaints, advising landlords and tenants on legal obligations.Work on innovative solutions to improve housing, including tall building fire safety and licensing consultations.Collaborate with partners to improve property conditions.This role offers flexibility, with time spent both in our Civic Offices and on-site inspections, plus the ability to work from home when suitable. Requirements: EHRB Registration (Environmental Health Practitioners)Knowledge of the Private Rented Sector and/or a regulatory environment.Strong communication skills for working with landlords, tenants, and various partners.A valid driving licence and vehicle for site inspections. Why Join Us? This is an exciting opportunity to shape Reading's future by contributing to crucial licensing schemes and improving housing conditions.
