Working Hours: 7am to 4pm
Salary: £13.75 per hour

About the Company:

A leading manufacturer of Exterior Paint who is committed to delivering high-quality products to their customers. They are looking to expand their dedicated team of Factory Operatives to help them meet increasing demand and maintain their high standards of production efficiency and safety.

Job Summary:

As a Factory Operative, you will play a key role in the daily operations of our production facility. You will be responsible for operating machinery, assembling products, conducting quality checks, and ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate machinery and production lines as per standard operating procedures.
  • Assemble and pack products according to specific guidelines.
  • Conduct quality control checks on products to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor production processes and report any issues or irregularities to the supervisor.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production targets.
  • Ensure accurate completion of production logs and documentation.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and product quality.
  • Support the loading and unloading of raw materials and finished goods when required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to operate and maintain machinery, or willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in quality control processes.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for documentation and reporting.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to work efficiently both individually and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of health and safety protocols in a factory setting.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Forklift truck license (but not essential).
  • Previous experience with quality control.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and reach for long periods.
  • Comfortable working in a factory setting with varying temperatures and noise levels.
