Role Profile

Cast UK have been instructed by one of our most established customers to recruit a Finance Business Partner for their operation in Theale. This is a key hire for the business as the Commercial Finance team is integral in maximising profitability.

The role will be focused on supporting the Commercial Finance Manager to maximise profitability for the business through supporting commercial bids to new and existing customers and assisting with the margin management of ongoing contracts.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the financial and commercial assessment of tenders and account renewals and retentions, creating innovative solutions, reviewing and developing pricing structures and providing written responses covering all commercial elements of any prospective bid.
  • Provide commercial insight and analysis of results, identify trends and challenge the business on performance. Investigation of margins by exception (high, low, negative and margins not in line with contractual agreements) including margin improvement opportunities
  • Supporting the sales team on contractual reviews, contractual matters and related commercial issues, ensuring that Sales and Purchasing Managers are handling designated contract(s), and that any changes to contract(s) are reviewed, implemented, documented and recorded. Including supporting the sales team with new contract mobilisation.
  • To ensure commercial aspects of customer contracts are accurately reported and the appropriate provisions are made including Customer Rebate management
  • Development of cost to serve model; establishing and embedding the principals within the business and utilising the cost to serve outputs to support tendering and contract renewal
  • Assist with the planning, organisation and data entry for the annual Supplier repricing exercise ensuring all data is implemented in a timely manner
  • Support sales with the planning, organisation, calculation and data entry for the bi-annual Customer repricing exercise ensuring all pricing is implemented in a timely manner
  • Assisting the Business Analyst (systems) with the creation, maintenance and development of reports.
  • Developing current systems to maximise use and creating best practice processes that work around the systems

Skills & Experience:

  • Fully Qualified or Finalist Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • 1-2 Years experience of working within a commercial finance team
  • Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence decision making.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and the ability to 'push-back' with managers
  • Ability to liaise with key stakeholders across all departments, up to Executive Manager groups
  • Advanced Excel skills
