Exclusive role - Finance Director - PE backed Health Insights scale-up - East Berkshire (hybrid working) - c.£125k + 20% bonus

Cedar have been retained by a mid-market Private Equity firm in search of a CFO for an exciting and profitable business in the health insights space.

Having recently completed on an acquisition only last week which will increase revenue by 25%, the current CFO has announced retirement for next year, so the business is looking to hire an ambitious Finance Director to be a CFO in waiting until they are ready to step up - and take the business on its next journey of growth and a transaction in several years time.

This is a strategic CFO role as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, partnering an incredible customer facing CEO/Founder, performing due diligence on potential M&A and support business cases to increase revenue streams. You will also partner several key c-suite/MD level commercial stakeholders, and manage a small team which you will develop and scale.

The business operates UK-wide from the Hebrides to the Isle of Wight, with several offices (no need for travel), but you will need to be comfortable working in a multi-entity organisation with several brands and revenue streams. You will be the link between the company and the PE firm so you will need the confidence to present both internally to the board as well as to the PE partners.

Experience you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Accountancy qualification is essential with several years PQE
  • Previous experience owning the Finance department, with experience working in a multi-entity/multi-site business
  • A strong analytical background, data-driven with experience in evaluating products / due diligence, able to support new investment decisions
  • Experience working in a Private Capital backed business (PE or similar) is ideal, or someone able to show proven strengths in working capital and cash flow
  • Strong accounting background, meticulous on compliance and regulatory requirements.
