Stanton House is partnering with a rapidly growing, PE-backed software business (with a £25m turnover) to recruit an FP&A Consultant for a 6-month interim engagement (outside IR35). The company, based near Reading, is experiencing significant growth and aims to double its revenue and EBITDA over the next couple of years, primarily through an aggressive M&A strategy

The Role:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to provide financial insights that support the development and execution of commercial strategies and initiatives.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to evaluate business performance across regions, products, and customers, identifying key drivers and trends.
  • Manage the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts, analysing variances and providing actionable recommendations to senior management.
  • Work with the CFO and senior management to establish and refine a commercial finance function with reliable processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial outputs.
  • Compile and deliver monthly and quarterly performance reports for management and board meetings, meeting deadlines and addressing any queries.
  • Develop and document an effective forecasting and budgeting process covering P&L, balance sheet, and cashflows.
  • Identify business risks and provide strategies for mitigation and corrective actions.
  • Work with the wider finance team to understand cash flow drivers and establish a robust cash forecasting process.
  • Build strong relationships across finance and other business teams, earning the trust of stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the commercial pricing strategy and support the bidding process.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making and contribute to various projects as required.

To be suitable you must have the following:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
  • Experience working in a PE Backed business (ideally software but not essential)
  • Available to start within two weeks
  • Proven background of leading FP&A functions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and routinely faced off to exec teams
