Summary

We're looking for a Collections and House Manager to join our portfolio team at Basildon Park.

You'll support the Collections & House team to deliver outstanding conservation, presentation, and compliance standards across Basildon Park, whilst also supporting across the Thames Valley Portfolio.

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll join the Senior Leadership Team, playing a part in key decision making that affects the entire portfolio.

What you'll be doing

You'll ensure our indoor visitor offer continues to grow in relevance and accessibility for existing and new audiences, championing inclusive service and interpretation.

You’ll plan and deliver high-quality collections care and management to improve opportunities for visitor engagement, leading the way for collections and interiors programming. Leading by example, you’ll provide a culture of excellent customer care, engaging our visitors with conservation and our values.

Working in partnership with your peers across the leadership team, you’ll ensure operational efficiency, championing conservation and cultural heritage. Working flexibly with other departments to achieve shared goals, you’ll help to engage our teams with change and push to improve how we care for our places and experiences for people.

Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from people with the following:

  • A proven ability to deliver the highest levels of presentation standards and conservation, customer care, compliance, and collections management in a historic setting
  • An awareness of current developments and approved practices in the heritage sector around visitor engagement, innovation and access
  • A passion for promoting inclusivity and diversity in the interpretation and presentation of history.
  • An ability to deliver on projects and working to deadlines
  • An ability to build effective and collaborative working relationships
  • Successful experience of people management and delivering through others
