C&I Technician

Location:RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Package: £35,000 (dependent on experience) + allowances = Gross salary normally in excess of £40,000 (plus Over time)

Opportunities for overtime, available at an enhanced rate.

Who are we looking for?

We do need you to have the following:

  • Engineering Apprenticeship NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in relevant discipline or NVQ/Diploma Level 2 plus industrial experience
  • A recognised relevant qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC or BTEC Level 3

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:

  • Leading planned maintenance tasks and breakdowns on site control and instrumentation systems. Included but not restricted to, Pressure, flow, temperature, level, pneumatic, PLC's and control systems.

  • Working on Functional safety systems which include Safety Integrated Systems (SIS) and Safety Integrity level (SIL) equipment.

  • Implementing safe systems of work and work instructions, demonstrating understanding, competence, and adherence to all relevant legislative and company standards within area of responsibility.

  • Undertaking technical investigations and generate reports to support modifications, abnormal events or design reviews.

  • Aiding with extra tasks such as install, commissioning and capital projects where required.

Due to the classified nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home in this role. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on site at AWE Aldermaston.
