We are seeking a Mechanical Clerk of Works to work for our client.

Key Details:

  • Role: Mechanical Clerk of Works
  • Location: Full-time site-based
  • Contract Type: 12-month+ contract (Outside IR35)
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain SC clearance or already have this.
  • Rate: Open and negotiable

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee mechanical system installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Verify materials, workmanship, and equipment meet approved standards.
  • Identify defects or non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and site progress.
  • Coordinate with other trades to ensure proper integration of mechanical systems.
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on mechanical system status.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and final handover of mechanical systems.

Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Mechanical Clerk of Works / NEC3 / NEC4 Supervisor.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and relevant building regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents.
  • Problem-solving mindset with excellent decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
