An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Housekeeper to join a welcoming, close-knit team on a stunning private estate in West Berkshire. This is a live-out position working for a fantastic and down- to-earth family who highly value their staff. Many employees have been with the family for decades, which speaks volumes about the warm and supportive working environment. The estate boasts beautiful grounds with multiple outbuildings, including a squash court and spa facilities. The main house and cottage together have nine bedrooms. The successful candidate will be joining a team of two other housekeepers, forming a dedicated trio responsible for maintaining the household to the highest standard.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a proactive and flexible approach to work, and the ability to function well within a team. A friendly, discreet, and reliable nature is essential, along with a willingness to assist in all areas of household operations. As this is a junior position, our clients are open to candidates without private household experience and would welcome candidates from a luxury hospitality or yachting background.
The role includes a variety of housekeeping duties, such as general cleaning, ensuring the home is well-maintained, and handling laundry and ironing. The housekeeper will also be responsible for running errands, including occasional airport runs, and therefore a driving licence would be essential for this position. The estate is fully staffed, including an Estate Manager, House Manager, Estate Assistant, Part-Time Chef, and a large gardening team, ensuring a collaborative and well-organised work environment.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, with some flexibility offered. Occasional weekend work will be required when the principals are in residence, which will be shared between all three housekeepers on a rotational basis. Any weekend shifts will be compensated with time off in lieu.
In addition to the base salary, the client offers a bonus incentive, meaning their staff earn an average of between £4,500 to £9,000 extra per annum, with the opportunity for this to be higher with exceptional performance.
