About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our Estimating Department. Based near Reading, this role offers a flexible work environment, with opportunities to work from home and occasional site visits. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing tenders for a range of projects across the domestic, high-end residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, including specialized services such as Heating, Ventilation, Domestic Systems, and Refrigeration.

Qualifications & Experience

  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 Electro-technical certification or equivalent.
  • Strong experience with in-house estimating processes and managing other estimators.
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing estimates for final submission.
  • Familiarity with estimation software, specifically Simpro and Ground-plan.
  • Proficiency in Google Office Suite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tender Preparation: Lead the preparation of mechanical tenders across various sectors, ensuring incorporation of specialized services like ductwork and refrigeration.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support the trainee estimator, ensuring the Estimating Department functions efficiently and produces compliant, accurate tenders.
  • Pre-Tender Processes: Oversee takeoffs and quote procurement, working closely with colleagues to ensure all necessary resources are in place.
  • Client Relations: Establish and maintain strong client relationships, utilizing effective follow-up strategies to convert quotations into orders.
  • Tender Management: Ensure all tenders are delivered to clients on time, with a high level of professionalism and clarity.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to company health and safety policies, promoting a safe work environment for all team members.
