As a Stud Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care, breeding, and training of our livestock, with a focus on maximizing productivity and maintaining the health of the breeding stock. You will work closely with a team of agricultural specialists, veterinarians, and farm workers to implement best practices in animal husbandry and breeding techniques. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the stud farm
- Will be expected to handle the Foils & stallions
- Grounds Maintenance work
- Using the tractor
- Develop and implement breeding programs to enhance livestock quality
- Monitor the health and wellbeing of all animals on the farm
- Collaborate with veterinarians for regular health checks and treatments
- Maintain accurate records of breeding cycles, health assessments, and stock performance
- Train and supervise farm staff in proper animal handling and care practices
- Coordinate nutritional programs to ensure optimal animal health and growth
Requirements
- Experience in livestock management, specifically in breeding operations
- Strong understanding of animal husbandry practices and welfare standards
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays as required
- Proficiency in using farm management software and record-keeping systemso
