We are currently recruiting for an Experienced Toolmaker to join our client in their Reading site.

Responsibilities:

An experienced toolmaker, preferably with experience of injection moulding tools
To attend to and rectify any faults or damage to moulding tools as directed by the Manager.
To maintain mould tools and to ensure that they are ready for use when required.
To carry out any repairs and modifications to tools as required by customers as and when authorised.
Use of manual milling machines, lathes, cylindrical grinders, manual and CNC spark eroders
Manufacture and fitting of new injection mould tools
Using hand tools such as files, hacksaws and grinders
Ensure that the toolroom equipment is operated in accordance with operating procedures and any faults are reported immediately.
Assist Maintenance Department as and when required.
Ensure that health and safety rules and regulations are always complied with.
Making and assembling new plastic injection moulds to a very high standard. (This involves accurately reading/interpreting highly technical engineering drawings, accurate final grinding of mould parts and the final assembly of complete moulds, all to a very high standard.)
Actively participating in and facilitating continuous improvements to tooling and production methods.
Maintaining and updating relevant documentation.
Working as part of a team to ensure set targets for delivery, quality and efficiency are met.

Experience required:

Experience in a similar injection moulding toolmaker role
Detailed working knowledge of the assembly on new high quality mould tools
Use of surface grinding machines
Toolroom inspection equipment and the ability to read and interpret highly technical engineering drawings.

Multi cavity Mould Tool experience.
Progression Press Tool knowledge.
