Location: We are based in Berkshire between Reading, Basingstoke and Newbury with onsite parking.

Salary Range: £45,560 to £55,000

No day is a typical day for a Communications Lead which makes what we do exciting. Some of the activities you can expect to be involved with:

  • Working closely with your colleagues in the wider comms function as well as throughout the business, to help create effective communications through our multiple channels.

  • Developing tight, professional plans that sit within our AWE corporate communications strategy.

  • Working on strategically important projects that underpin the transformation of our business, exploring ways to deliver innovation in our communications activities.

  • Championing our newly re-invigorated brand, and consulting with colleagues to demonstrate the power it gives us in bringing our stories to life and supporting our company mission.

  • Using your excellent copywriting skills to convey often complex and difficult messages accurately and in a way that is accessible to all.

  • Digital publishing and posting content through our internal and external channels (Experience of using CMS, social media, digital publishing and editing packages desired).

  • Liaising and building relationships with our internal studio and external agencies, to get the best results, on time and on budget.

What will make you successful:

  • Copywriting experience with a focus on engaging storytelling.

  • Digital and social media skills and experience.

  • A strong communications background, potentially with some experience working with press and media.

  • A "can-do" approach.

  • Well organised with excellent time management skills.

  • Working in a dynamic environment on multiple projects.

  • Managing communications or social media crisis.

  • Producing copy for social media and asset creation.

Some things you need to know:

  • The advert will close on: 15 November 24
  • Interviews will be on TEAMS (90 minutes) in early December with a ten-minute presentation. There will also be a pre-interview skills test.
  • You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (funded by us) in order to start with us in this role. It can take several months for clearance to come through.
  • This role does require some attendance for meetings on site as required at RG7 4PR along with occasional travel to our other sites, if required.
