Job Title: Curriculum Leader for ScienceLocation: Reading   Contract: Permanent, Full Time  Salary: £31,650-£43,607 + TLR £5,531Hours: 8.00am-4.00pm OR 8.30am-4.30pmOur client has an exceptional school in Reading for young people with an Education Healthcare Plan (EHCP) for young with Autism spectrum Conditions and other associated complex needs.Seeking a Curriculum Leader- Science to join their team, this is a great opportunity to secure a role within a flourishing provision that can offer a range of great benefits.Duties to include but not limited to:
  • Developing, alongside relevant school and trust leads, the curriculum intent for the subject. 
  • Leadership of the curriculum implementation for the subject 
  • Oversight of curriculum programmes, interventions and support for students who are not yet fluent readers. 
  • Contributing to the wider development of whole school curriculum intent and design, modelling best practice and expertise in curriculum design and implementation to other curriculum leaders. 
  • Contributing to curriculum planning and assessment as appropriate within the school and wider Trust. 
  • Line managing staff in the subject team, and other staff as appropriate.  
  • Ensuring that monitoring, evaluation and professional coaching is effective in supporting staff performance, academic standards and the personal development and wellbeing of the students. 
  • Writing and enacting Development Plans to address identified priorities. 
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements within the subject area, as applicable
Experience/Qualifications: 
  • Experience of dealing with young people aged 11+, preferably within an educational context. -Recent experience of teaching your subject(s) at the relevant level(s).  
  • Involvement in the marking of GCSE and/or A level examination scripts for a recognised Awarding Body. 
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum and specifications of examination courses. 
  • Knowledge of GCSE and/or A level specifications and curriculum initiatives.  
  • An awareness of likely developments affecting the delivery of subjects at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 (where applicable). 
  • Awareness of equal opportunities issues and how they can be tackled through teaching and learning strategies and other SEN provision.
