- Salary: MPS / UPS plus TLR2b (£6,207) with an average uplift of £1,300 (London Fringe Allowance)

Day-to-day of the role:- Curriculum Development:
- Collaborate with staff to enhance the geography, travel & tourism curricula across KS3, KS4, and KS5 levels.
- Evaluate and ensure the curricula provide a continuous framework for student learning and progression.
- Stay updated with national developments in curriculum design and pedagogy.
- Teaching and Learning:
- Implement innovative teaching methods and action research techniques in geography, travel & tourism.
- Ensure high-quality lesson planning and delivery to create a positive learning environment.
- Monitor and enhance the quality of teaching alongside the team.
- Assessment and Recording:
- Conduct accurate assessments that inform and enhance future learning.
- Monitor student progress, providing necessary interventions and support.
- Deliver detailed assessment reports to students, parents, and school leaders.
- Student Personal Development and Well-being:
- Promote excellent student engagement, attendance, and punctuality.
- Contribute to students’ personal development through extracurricular activities.
- Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies to ensure a safe educational environment.
- Management of Staff and Resources:
- Manage and mentor geography, travel & tourism department staff.
- Efficiently allocate departmental resources to maximise student achievement.
- Support the recruitment and professional development of new staff.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster positive relationships within the school community and with external stakeholders.
- Engage with parents and the local community to enhance learning outcomes and opportunities for students.
- Proven experience in leading a geography, travel & tourism department.
- Strong background in curriculum development and pedagogy.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to innovate and implement effective teaching strategies.
