Our client, a leading engineering and maintenance provider, is currently seeking a Senior HSE Advisor to join their team in Reading. The company supports customers across various markets including chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage, making this a dynamic and exciting opportunity in the manufacturing and engineering sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and line management to safety advisors within the team
  • Work closely with the existing Lead to provide strategic guidance to the HSE team
  • Collaborate with the business' Regional HSE to ensure the project aligns with regional health and safety goals
  • Provide support and guidance to project managers on all matters relating to HSE
  • Ensure all work activities comply with company and site safety procedures, maintaining high standards of health & safety
  • Promote a Safety First culture, delivering toolbox talks and safety-related training as required
  • Track and report HSE performance in line with regional requirements
  • Identify and develop initiatives to drive continuous improvement on the project
  • Plan and conduct HSE audits, ensuring timely closeout of any actions
  • Encourage safe card submission within the team, monitor submissions, and follow up on actions with relevant managers
  • Ensure excellent communication with project management, the wider region, and client HSE representatives
  • Provide HSE support to the region as required, including travel to other sites within the region
Job Requirements:
  • NEBOSH & IOSH Qualifications
  • Experience in health & safety management and engineering
  • Proficiency in QHSE and HSE management practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Experience in nuclear, oil & gas, or other heavily regulated industries
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance
