  • A leading provider of Embedded Computing Products is seeking a Degree qualified Embedded Software Engineer with proficiency in Embedded C programming and practical experience in UEFI BIOS development.
  • The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, along with proven commercial experience in Embedded C programming for x86, PowerPC, or high-performance ARM processors.
  • Extensive experience in developing software in the UEFI BIOS and programming hardware devices at the register level is required, as well as developing low-level embedded software for Linux or similar operating systems.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering BIOS BSPs, including Middleware, system and device driver software for Linux, Windows, and VxWorks, as well as testing software and supporting product architecture definitions.
  • A competitive salary will be offered, along with hybrid working options, 25 days of holiday, private medical cover, and generous pension contributions, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience preferred.

This established Company with Headquarters in the UK and offices in the US; designs and manufactures a range of embedded products for use in extreme environments used Globally in the Aerospace, Defence, Medical and Industrial Sectors.

The ideal Embedded Software Engineer will possess the following:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar.
  • Proven commercial Embedded C Programming experience for x86, PowerPC or high-performance ARM processors. 
  • Extensive experience with developing software in the UEFI BIOS.
  • Experience programming a variety of hardware devices at register level.
  • Developing low-level embedded software for Linux or similar operating system. 

The successful Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of the BIOS BSP’s; including Middleware, system and device driver software for Linux, Windows and VxWorks; testing software and supporting the definition of product and software architecture as well as  taking a hands-on approach to early hardware bring-up.
