Job Description:We are seeking a skilled 2nd Line Support Engineer to join our client's dynamic team in Reading, on an initial 8 week contract. As part of a fast-paced MSP environment, you will provide technical support and troubleshooting for a range of clients across various industries. Your primary focus will be on resolving escalated IT issues, ensuring seamless system operations, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:Provide 2nd line support for escalated issues across Microsoft, VMware, and Veeam technologies.
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and networking.
Administer and maintain virtualized environments (VMware) and backup solutions (Veeam).
Work closely with 1st and 3rd line teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
Ensure documentation and ticketing systems are kept up to date.
Assist in IT projects, including migrations, deployments, and upgrades.
Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining SLAs.
Required Skills & Experience:Proven experience in a 2nd line IT support role, ideally within an MSP.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, O365).
Experience with VMware (vSphere, ESXi) and Veeam backup solutions.
Good understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Daily rate: £220-£240/day
