IT Manager required to join a vibrant and forward-thinking school, where you’ll lead the technology efforts to support both staff and students.

The Role:

As the IT Manager, you’ll take a proactive, hands-on approach to maintaining and enhancing the school’s IT infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day IT operations, solving technical challenges, and implementing IT strategies that align with the school’s educational goals. Key Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on Management: Oversee and maintain the school’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and devices.
  • Technical Support: Provide daily IT support for staff and students, addressing hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a small IT team, fostering a high level of service and collaboration.
  • IT Strategy: Collaborate with school leadership to develop and implement forward-thinking IT strategies.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure data security and compliance with regulations like GDPR.
  • Budget Management: Plan and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with external service providers and manage supplier relationships.
  • Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with technological trends and advancements to introduce innovative solutions.
Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience as an IT Manager or Senior IT role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong hands-on skills in network administration, server management, and troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
  • Experience managing Windows, macOS, and/or Chromebook environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft 365) and virtual learning environments (VLEs).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with educators, students, and external partners.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance (e.g. GDPR).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus.
