Role: Senior Information Systems Security SpecialistSalary/Rate: £ 62 per hr (inside IR35) Location: Hybrid ReadingContract Duration: 12 months

We are currently looking for a Senior Information Systems Security Specialist for our government client. This Senior Information Systems Security Specialist role is hybrid, based between 3 days in the office/on site and the remainder of the week working remotely.

The contract for the Senior Information Systems Security Specialist position is for 12-months with potential to extend, operating inside IR35.

Security Clearance: Developed Vetting ("DV Clearance")

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Essential skills/experience required:

• Security assurance background
• Working knowledge of information security accreditation/assurances
• CISM/ISO 27001 knowledge
• Stakeholder management experience
• Public sector background ideally / would also suit someone from telecommunications background
• This is not an IT security officer/operations role

The role:

• Provide analysis of risks to information systems to inform risk owners and project managers to allow effective decision making.
• Work with functions, projects and the supply chain to assess the sources of Information Risk and make recommendations on how these are to be managed.
• Determine how the overall security architecture applies to projects under consideration and advise project solution architects on security requirements.
• Review high- and low-level solution designs for compliance with overall security architecture, achievement of security requirements and overall efficiency of the security features and tools.
• Provide expert subject matter advice to CISO and other elements of the IS management chain.
• Ensure IT projects are provided with timely technical security advice.
• Maintains and promotes high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
• Lead in maintaining awareness of HMG and industry best practice in Information Assurance and Information Risk Management.
• Facilitate the formal accreditation of corporate systems.
• Oversee IT Health Check and Vulnerability Assessments by approving scope of tests and overall testing programme.
• Advise managers on the appropriate level of risk tolerance.
• Record and track assessments of information capability and projects supporting reviews and audits as necessary.
• Provide technical risk assessment analysis.
• Develop the professionalism of Information Risk Management within the business.
• Attend project Security Working Groups and manage when appropriate.
