About the Role

My client is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join an established and highly regarded Managed Service Provider (MSP), supporting clients along the M4 corridor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in MSP environments, who thrives in a flexible working setup and enjoys a combination of office-based and onsite client visits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Onsite Client Support: Provide expert hands-on technical support and maintenance at client sites, ensuring consistent and efficient service delivery.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues swiftly and effectively in line with MSP standards.
  • Installations & Upgrades: Deliver installations, upgrades, and configurations of systems, servers, and networks tailored to client requirements.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular system health checks and proactive maintenance to prevent downtime.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a seamless customer experience and high satisfaction levels.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of completed work, issues resolved, and systems configurations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams to escalate and address complex technical challenges when necessary.
About You

To excel in this role, you’ll need to:

  • Have MSP Experience: Demonstrate prior experience working in a Managed Service Provider environment, managing multiple client accounts and their IT needs.
  • Be Technically Proficient: Possess strong skills in diagnosing and resolving IT issues across hardware, software, and networks.
  • Be Customer-Focused: Excel at building rapport with clients and explaining technical solutions in an approachable, non-technical manner.
  • Be Proactive & Organised: Manage your workload effectively while maintaining a focus on delivering outstanding service.
  • Be Mobile & Flexible: Be comfortable travelling within the M4 corridor and adapting to varied client environments.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar field-based IT support or engineering role within an MSP environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking (firewalls, VPNs, routing), and hardware support.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure) and virtualisation platforms.
  • Familiarity with RMM tools and PSA systems commonly used in MSPs.
  • A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset.
