We are looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Claims Handler with legal escalations experience to join a thriving Insurance company in the Reading area. This hybrid role combines legal support tasks with escalated complaint resolution in the insurance sector and is ideal for a capable and experienced candidate looking to work on a hybrid basis in our client’s Reading office. Immediate start available.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage written complaints and legal escalations across insurance products via Freshdesk
  • Investigate complex disputes, including cases with the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and Motor Ombudsman
  • Draft and compile court bundles, legal responses, and regulatory documentation
  • Manage and defend court matters, including writing defences, statements and compiling court bundles along with possible court attendances
  • Handle Subject Access Requests (SARs) in line with GDPR and data protection laws
  • Collaborate with Claims, Legal, Compliance, and Underwriting teams to gather evidence
  • Maintain accurate records and audit trails in CRM systems
  • Stay up to date with FCA regulations and legal best practices to ensure compliance
  • Support internal process reviews and policy development to mitigate legal and reputational risks

Requirement:

  • At least 2 years experience handling Insurance claims escalations
  • Understanding of FCA guidelines, complaint handling regulations, and legal workflows
  • Experience preparing court documents and handling ombudsman investigations
  • Knowledge of GDPR, data protection laws, and SARs
  • Proficiency in Freshdesk or similar case management systems
  • Lives within max 45 minutes of Reading with own transport
