Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer (Locum)

Location: Reading, UK
Job Type: Contract (Initial 3 months with possibility of extension)
Salary: Hourly Rate - DOE

We are seeking a Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer to contribute to our client's mission of making the Berkshire Community a vibrant and successful place. We are seeking a highly skilled solicitor, barrister, or FILEX with a passion for education law and a commitment to community service.

Day-to-day of the role:

Conduct special education needs appeals, including undertaking advocacy at SEND Tribunals.
Support the Strategic Lead for Adult Social Care and Education Law in developing team members, particularly in enhancing advocacy skills.
Hold a caseload of SEN appeals and judicial reviews.
Provide general education advice and manage judicial reviews.
Conduct your own advocacy effectively.
Work collaboratively within the team and contribute to the Team's values.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Valid practising certificate and authorisation to practice in England as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (FILEX).
Post-qualification experience in educational work, including SEN appeals.
Ability to manage a comprehensive caseload independently.
Strong advocacy skills and experience in conducting your own advocacy.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure.
Experience in providing advice to a diverse range of stakeholders.
Proven track record of supervising staff effectively.
