Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer (Locum)

We are seeking a Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer to contribute to our client's mission of making the Berkshire Community a vibrant and successful place. We are seeking a highly skilled solicitor, barrister, or FILEX with a passion for education law and a commitment to community service.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct special education needs appeals, including undertaking advocacy at SEND Tribunals.
  • Support the Strategic Lead for Adult Social Care and Education Law in developing team members, particularly in enhancing advocacy skills.
  • Hold a caseload of SEN appeals and judicial reviews.
  • Provide general education advice and manage judicial reviews.
  • Conduct your own advocacy effectively.
  • Work collaboratively within the team and contribute to the Team's values.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Valid practising certificate and authorisation to practice in England as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (FILEX).
  • Post-qualification experience in educational work, including SEN appeals.
  • Ability to manage a comprehensive caseload independently.
  • Strong advocacy skills and experience in conducting your own advocacy.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure.
  • Experience in providing advice to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of supervising staff effectively.
