Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Legal Secretary to support their busy Property Law team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a prestigious law firm and provides a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The position is based in their Reading office, with the flexibility of hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage complex diaries for the Property team, schedule client meetings, hearings, and travel arrangements.
  • Draft, format, and proofread various legal documents and correspondence related to property transactions, including leases, contracts, and agreements.
  • Provide administrative support for property transactions, including preparing and reviewing documents, amending manuscripts, and handling compliance-related tasks.
  • Communicate directly with clients, external parties, surveyors, and agents in relation to property matters, ensuring all parties are updated and informed.
  • Organise and maintain document management systems, ensuring all property-related files are kept in order and compliant with regulations.
  • Organise and assist with property-related events such as meetings, closings, and property development projects.
  • Efficiently prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines, demonstrating flexibility in a fast-paced property law environment.
  • Handle all sensitive legal matters with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally with a focus on property law or a similar field within a corporate or professional services environment.
  • Knowledge of property law, lease agreements, conveyancing, and real estate transactions is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in document management and diary management; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and professionals at all levels.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of work.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple workloads, and remain organised in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity at all times.
