As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in ensuring legal adherence within a fintech company. You will be responsible for conducting legal research and assisting in the drafting of contracts within the business. Your role will involve collaborating with multiple teams to navigate regulatory complexities, mitigate legal risks, and uphold the standards of the business from a legal perspective.

Responsibilities:

  • Legal Research and Analysis
  • Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law to support compliance initiatives and business operations.
  • Prepare summaries, memos, and reports on legal issues impacting the fintech industry, including any regulatory changes.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Contract Management
  • Assist in the review, negotiation, and management of contracts with clients, vendors, and partners, ensuring terms are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Drafting customer terms and conditions.
  • Maintain contract databases and tracking systems to monitor contract status, key dates, and obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve contract-related issues and disputes in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal and business teams, to address legal and regulatory issues and support business initiatives.
  • Drawing-up and maintaining internal policy and procedure documents.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on legal matters, providing guidance and support to colleagues across the business.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or higher education equivalent in law/history/English, business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in legal, or regulatory roles within the fintech, financial services, or technology industry.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent experience is preferred. Experience of the drafting of SAAS contracts a bonus.
  • An understanding of regulatory requirements and legal frameworks applicable to fintech operations, including financial regulations, data protection laws, and consumer protection statutes would be an advantage
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases, with the ability to analyse complex legal issues and communicate findings effectively would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, resilient with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with stakeholders and build positive relationships.
