Reed Public Sector is urgently recruiting for a Temp to Perm Fleet Manager for a Charity in Berkshire 

Annual Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 

Hybrid working/ Predominantly remote  The role works in partnership with stakeholders and vehicle drivers, getting into the operational detail, providing expert advice and support on all fleet matters whilst also ensuring the organisation understands and effectively manages its occupational road risk. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of user-friendly fleet policies and procedures, ensuring Guide Dogs remains legally compliant with all relevant legislation.
  • Monitor monthly spend and budget reports associated with vehicle leasing, vehicle service and maintenance, fuel cards, hire vehicles, driver training and licence and compliance checking.
  • Maintain accurate data associated with vehicle replacements and predicted future new orders, working closely with key stakeholders within Operations and HR.
  • Work alongside the nominated fleet leasing/management provider, ensuring service and quality standards are regularly assessed.

Education/Qualifications Essential GCSE’s in English and Maths, at grade C or equivalent qualification (QCF Level 2 / SQCF Level 5).  Desirable

  • Fleet management qualification

Job-Related Experience Essential

  • A background in fleet management, with experience in managing a 400+ vehicle fleet.
  • Experience in managing an external fleet support/management leasing provider, with a strong focus on SLAs and performance.
  • Involvement in the management of fleet budgets and spend of £2m+Desirable
  • Ability to research and interpret the legal framework associated with the management of a vehicle fleet (driver safety, HMRC etc.)
  • Experience in working with stakeholders to identify requirements for procuring business need equipment (i.e. caging/vehicles)

Skills and Competencies Essential

  • In-depth understanding of fleet management procedures and departmental policies
  • Strong communicating and engaging skills, with the ability and desire to work closely with drivers and other key stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver user-friendly solutions.
