Operations and Logistics ManagerReading Area 3 days at site/hybrid £55,000- £60,000pa + benefitsYou will be responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, global logistics, and leading the demand planning strategy to support the efficient global movement. You will take a hands-on approach to managing a dynamic team, working closely with global commercial and operational stakeholders to ensure just-in-time inventory positioning and cost-effective delivery. Ideally you will have experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or cold chain industriesKey Responsibilities:

  • Ultimate responsibility for the day-to-day warehouse operations
  • Manage all logistics operations, including freight procurement, contract negotiation, and relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and airlines
  • Ensuring the provision of a first-class service in the most cost-effective manner
  • Implement a global demand planning strategy
  • Manage the receiving / despatch of goods in line with customer needs while ensuring individual and team KPI's are met.
  • Ensure that all inventory is accounted for and stored correctly.
  • Maintain strong compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Proven experience in operations and logistics management, ideally in a global supply chain environment
  • Proven experience of delivering against agreed budgets and KPI's
  • Proven leadership abilities with the presence and charisma to lead a sizeable team
  • An understanding of CI techniques, KPI management, Employment Law and H&S legislation
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience in demand planning and freight procurement
  • Commercially minded with excellent negotiation skills and cost control focus
  • Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems
  • Six Sigma
