Job Description:

Our client is looking for a skilled Multi-Trade Operative to join their Operations Response team based in Reading. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of reactive repairs and maintenance tasks on commercial properties. Duties include fixing leaking taps, replacing sockets, changing door handles, hanging new doors, and conducting external repairs such as fencing and groundworks.

Working within a team of 12, you will be expected to work both independently and as part of the team, addressing various maintenance needs to ensure the efficient operation of the properties. You will also be included in an emergency call-out rota. A company van and power tools will be provided for business use, along with a comprehensive training plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing construction, fault-fixing, and maintenance tasks at commercial properties.
  • Identifying and resolving issues promptly, keeping customers informed throughout the process.
  • Maintaining adequate van stock levels and restocking as necessary.
  • Providing clear and timely updates to customers on the progress of work.
  • Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota for emergency coverage.

Skills and Experience:

  • City & Guilds qualification, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience in relevant trades.
  • Recent experience in a similar role within commercial maintenance is beneficial.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Additional skills in plumbing, carpentry, or plastering are advantageous.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • A full, valid UK driving license is required for this role.
