Maintenance Engineer

Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum
Reed Engineering are working with a fantastic national company who are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join the team. This role involves conducting routine maintenance work, responding to plant breakdowns, and managing systems such as PLC and SCADA. The ideal candidate will have a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct routine maintenance and respond to plant breakdowns, ensuring all activities are completed in line with GMP documentation standards.
- Manage and facilitate the operation of PLC and SCADA systems in collaboration with external support services and local maintenance management.
- Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) according to the schedule and ensure reactive maintenance tickets are closed promptly with accurate data capture.
- Participate in on-call duties as required and support plant breakdowns outside normal business hours.
- Actively engage in the development and review of the maintenance schedule and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Oversee and execute the installation and maintenance of general plant machinery and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records using CMMS systems for coordinating planned activities and logging maintenance issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Vocational/Technical qualification such as High School Diploma, GED, HNC, or HND.
- Strong experience in maintenance within a regulated environment, preferably in the medical industry.
- Proficient in various maintenance disciplines including electrical fault-finding, PAT testing, and control panel maintenance.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, and knowledge of drives, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Familiarity with 5S and lean initiatives, and basic skills in electrical and mechanical drawing and design.
- Excellent communication skills, team-oriented, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
