Mechanical Project Engineer

Westlakes Recruit are currently looking for several project engineers, on a contract basis, for work in the Reading area.

The candidate will:

• Lead and manage emergent engineering projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop project plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation, tailored to the specific requirements of emergent projects.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and production, to ensure timely project execution.
• Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
• Identify and analyse technical issues that require immediate attention, developing innovative solutions to address them.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, test, and implement solutions that meet project requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members, ensuring that solutions are feasible and effective.
• Evaluate and troubleshoot emergent engineering problems, making adjustments as necessary to achieve project goals.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders involved in emergent engineering projects.
• Communicate project status, challenges, and outcomes to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and present detailed project reports, including technical documentation, cost analysis, and timelines.
• Ensure that all stakeholders are informed of project developments and any potential risks or delays.
• Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure optimal utilisation.
• Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to secure necessary materials and components.

The candidate will ideally have:

• HNC/HND/Degree Qualification (or Equivalent)
• Experience as a Project Construction Engineer within a infrastructure project-based environment.
• Experience working within large scale projects, ideally in a Joint Venture or Alliance environment.
