About Us:
We are a leading provider of high-quality window manufacturing machinery, and we are seeking a skilled and motivated Field-Based Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both electrical and mechanical installations, with a particular focus on electro-mechanical systems and PLC knowledge. You will be working on a variety of installations and maintenance tasks across the UK, providing expert service and support to our clients in the window manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot window manufacturing machinery on-site at customer locations across the UK.
- Perform both electrical and mechanical installations, ensuring machinery is running efficiently and safely.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with electro-mechanical systems, with a focus on PLC-controlled equipment.
- Provide technical support and training to customers as required.
- The Service Engineer will carry out routine maintenance under service contracts when not on new installations.
- Maintain accurate service records and report on installations and service activities.
- The Service Engineer will work remotely, with flexibility to travel to various client sites primarily within the region that you reside
Key Requirements:
- The Service Engineer will have electro-mechanical experience, with a solid understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems (ideally)
- The Service Engineer will have proven experience in the installation and maintenance of industrial machinery, ideally in the window manufacturing or similar sectors.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices for machinery installation and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with customers and internal teams.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel nationwide.
- Previous experience working remotely is beneficial.
