We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join the team at one of the largest district general hospitals in the country. The Trust offers a broad range of healthcare services, including specialist services in cancer care, heart conditions, and stroke care. With a strong focus on continuous improvement and staff development, the Trust is dedicated to delivering excellent care and ensuring the well-being of its community.

Description:

  • Participate in the operational management and clinical leadership of occupational therapy alongside the Band 7 Team Lead and/or Advanced Specialist OT.
  • Use specialist occupational therapy knowledge and clinical reasoning skills to provide support and advice to the occupational therapy team while managing your caseload of patients with complex conditions as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Ensure a high-quality, effective, and efficient occupational therapy service in the designated area.
  • Contribute to planning and policy development within the Therapy Department.
  • Deputise for the Band 7 Team Lead/Advanced Specialist as required.

Skills:

  • Degree or recognized qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Postgraduate specialist experience, demonstrated by ongoing CPD, evidence-based project work, and postgraduate teaching.
  • HCPC Registered.
  • Understanding of a broad range of elderly care, medical, neurological, musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, or surgical conditions.
  • Postgraduate training in the management of conditions.
  • Experience in teaching and presenting to other staff.
