Our Client:

We are representing a leading facilities management company that specialises in providing comprehensive commercial gas engineering solutions to a diverse range of clients in and around Reading. With a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service and maintaining high industry standards, our client is seeking a skilled Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join their dynamic team.

Job Description:

As a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality maintenance, repair, and installation services for a variety of commercial gas systems. You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks across multiple sites within the Reading area. The successful candidate will have a solid background in commercial gas engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs of commercial gas systems, boilers, heaters, and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults, ensuring minimal disruption to the client's operations.
  • Carry out safety inspections, testing, and certification in accordance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Install, commission, and decommission commercial gas appliances and systems.
  • Respond promptly to reactive call-outs and provide timely resolutions to emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including service reports, work logs, and customer records.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing technical advice, guidance, and excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with the wider team and support colleagues as required.

Requirements:

  • Valid Gas Safe registration and relevant commercial gas qualifications (e.g., COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1, TPCP1A).
  • Proven experience in commercial gas engineering, including maintenance, repair, and installation of gas systems and appliances.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial heating systems, boilers, burners, and controls.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations (e.g., Gas Safety Regulations, Building Regulations).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex faults and issues efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of up to 45,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
